SANTA MONICA, CA, Sep. 1—BuildOps today announced it is an inaugural member of the Associated Builders and Contractors Tech Alliance—a consortium of firms that create construction technology and innovative digital solutions for ABC contractor members, the majority of which are classified as small businesses and primarily perform work in the industrial and commercial sectors. One of 13 Tech Alliance companies, BuildOps will leverage technology solutions to help ABC members develop people, win work and deliver work safely, ethically, and profitably for the betterment of the communities in which they work.

Alok Chanani, CEO of BuildOps, said, “It’s 2020, but so many contractors are either still relying on pen and paper, or they’ve cobbled together a complex (and costly) web of systems in hopes of improving their businesses. Where we come in is providing these contractors with a simple, powerful solution that’s built to work the way they do — and does it all under one roof. Being a part of the Tech Alliance is a huge honor for us, and we look forward to working with and supporting the growth of ABC members of all sizes.”

In particular, the Tech Alliance will introduce small- and mid-sized contractors and subcontractors to construction technology solutions such as BuildOps’ field service management platform, which powers all the operational elements service contractors need — from gated workflows and real-time quoting to dynamic reporting and customer deliverables. Tech Alliance companies will also collaborate on resources for ABC members, including beta testing, free technology programs, and educational webinars.

“The need for technological solutions—both big and small—in the construction industry is clear, especially given changing work conditions during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Matt Abeles, ABC’s vice president of construction technology and innovation. “I look forward to the exceptional products, education, and dialogue BuildOps and the rest of the Tech Alliance will bring to ABC members and our evolving industry, especially as we continue to implement technology to revolutionize the design, build and delivery process.”

The 2020-2021 Tech Alliance members also include: Autodesk, Flashtract, myComply, Penta, Procore, ProEst, Real Time Risk Solutions, Riskcast, Safesite, StructionSite, SubHQ, and Tenna.
